Discussion
editI know some users may have something against typo-fixing bots but I do feel their situation. Please note that this bot is 100% manually assisted by myself and all typos are thoroughly checked before they are corrected. If anyone notices any such problem with the typo fixing, they can contact myself at any time and it will be corrected. Thank you fellow Wikipedians and BAG. — E talk 08:38, 13 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
- Did another bot get approved to do this a while ago/was there a big debate then? I seem to remember a similar task. Could you please post on VPT and AN to ask for input. At the moment, my feeling is that as long as you don't make regional typofixes (which AWB doesn't allow anyway), there shouldn't be a problem, especially as you're manually checking each edit. - It is manually checked for each correction and uses the default settings of the RegExTypoFix plugin. — E talk 00:36, 14 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
- So long as you're manually checking them, I really don't see a problem. I used to do this a lot in semi-auto mode AWB myself. SQLQuery me! 20:30, 14 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
- Here too. I have been doing it under my main account and now think its time to move it to another account. — E talk 21:58, 14 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
- See my "people maybe confused by account with "bot" in name doing spell check" above - otherwise, I see no problems whatsoever with bot assisted manual spell-check. -- Tawker (talk) 07:45, 18 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
- Withdrawn by operator. I withdraw this bot request under the grounds of Tawker's concerns and I fully understand that. — E talk 20:42, 18 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
