Function details: Looks in dated deletion categories for the previous day, and notifies users on their talk page if the bot determines that they have not yet been notified. To avoid spamming users who have multiple files nominated for a given reason (e.g. F11), I'll have the bot use a bulleted list beneath the warning message. For the user talk pages are you going to view page histories, or just page content? Basically, how are you going to avoid re-notifying someone that has already been notified by someone else? — xaosflux ^Talk 15:37, 10 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

The bot will fetch all revisions to an uploader's talk page made in the past day and look for links to the nominated file(s), notifying the user about files that were not mentioned. -FASTILY 03:58, 11 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Question: The files were usually tagged the day before notification. Shouldn't the file tags be re-dated to match the notification date? Alternatively, the bot could notify users just before midnight so that this problem is avoided. --Stefan2 (talk) 19:11, 28 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, I have the bot intentionally wait an hour after midnight before leaving missed courtesy notifications so as to give tagging users adequate time to notify uploaders. I believe that this is fine because a) I don't think it is appropriate to have an overzealous notification task based on a technicality, and b) the daily backlogs are usually never processed exactly at midnight (in fact, at this time there is an average of ~4.4 days backlogged for each deletion category). -FASTILY 22:51, 29 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]
