Edit period(s): One time run
Estimated number of pages affected: ~1,500
Namespace(s): Mainspace → Draftspace
Exclusion compliant (Yes/No): No
Function details: This task was requested as a result of the lengthy discussion around the content translation tool and the problematic pages that were created using it. Full disclosure, I have not thoroughly read the discussion, but consensus for this is well-established (see links above). The current list of pages (1,893 total) contains red links and redirects. The bot will skip these, but will create a list of the redirects so they can be reviewed manually. I don't have an exact count of the pages that will be moved, as I plan to add that code as part of the bot task, but it should amount to around 1,500. Additionally, the initial revision of each page will be checked to make sure it has the "contenttranslation" tag. This is to ensure the page that was created by CTX wasn't deleted then recreated normally. The pages will be moved to the draftspace and then have all categories deactivated.
Discussion
edit- The redlinks and redirects are because the list was generated well over a year ago. They're (mostly) harmless, but it would be good to generate a list of them so they can be reviewed manually. Sometimes the article was deleted or redirected; but sometimes it was moved with or without a redirect, and we need to deal with those.Less harmless, and I don't know for sure if any more of these exist, would be a page that was created with content translation, deleted, and then had another article created there. These shouldn't be touched either. The first revision of every article to be moved should have the contenttranslation tag. —Cryptic 18:35, 21 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Very important information. Thank you! I can code this up — MusikAnimal talk 18:36, 21 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]- I can also provide a list of the redirects and redlinks — MusikAnimal talk 18:37, 21 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
- @MusikAnimal: The task should ideally skip pages with any entries in the deletion log. That skips edge cases that can be reviewed manually later. ~ Rob13Talk 19:57, 21 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
