Automatic or Manually Assisted: Automatic
Programming Language(s): Python (pyWikipedia)
Function Summary: Interwikis only
Edit period(s): Occasionally, for few hours a day periods
Edit rate requested: Default pyWikipedia rate
Already has a bot flag: Yes, it already has a bot flag on French Wikipedia
Function Details: I would like to let my bot run on this wikipedia. Its name is Nono le petit robot. Its only activity is fixing interwiki links. For doing this, it uses the interwiki.py script of the pywikipedia package. It already has a bot status at fr and request is under approval at it wikipedias (more to come).
Some extra information about myself is that I am an administrator in the French wikipedia, and I actively collaborated in the French wikipedia (a bit in English ones) and Commons.

editOne time run doing what exactly? :) --kingboyk 21:11, 12 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
- Well, may be "one time run" is not appropriate. In fact, I'll use the bot occasionally to do some interwikis. :-) Manchot 21:22, 12 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
- OK, I thought it was strange that you were wanting to do interwiki just once :) If you could update the "Edit period(s)" line above to say how often you want to run that would be great.
- Approved for trial. Please provide a link to the relevant contributions and/or diffs when the trial is complete. Do up to 100 edits and then please report back with some diffs and the above info. Cheers. --kingboyk 21:31, 12 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

One thing regarding edit rate... default pywikipedia rate means, if I am not still asleep, "as fast as it can", which can be something around a few dozens. Too fast, in my opinion. Snowolf (talk) CON COI - 06:00, 13 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
- Looking at Nono le petit robot edits, it seems that rate is much more like one edit every average 3 minutes ;). Anyway, the edit rate can be set using -putthrottle: option if needed. Manchot 09:33, 13 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
- If you're just doing interwiki, I think that it will, effectively, "self throttle". I'm not sure about this, but doesn't pywikipedia self throttle, depending on server load? (I may have imagined that bit :))... Martinp23 09:40, 13 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
- Approved. Everything looks good. The bot shall run with a flag. Martinp23 09:46, 13 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
