Automatic, Supervised, or Manual: Auto
Programming language(s): PHP
Source code available: User:NoomBot/scripts/AFCDel.php
Function overview: Automatic notification of AfC reviewers when an article they reviewed is passed to Articles for deletion.
Links to relevant discussions (where appropriate): Archived request, Articles for creation talk
Edit period(s): Every 30 minutes.
Estimated number of pages affected: Perhaps a couple per day.
Exclusion compliant (Yes/No): Yes
Already has a bot flag (Yes/No): Yes
Function details: Bot observes the current articles listed for deletion at regular intervals, checking for articles to be listed which passed through WP:AFC. The bot will check the articles talk page template to determine the reviewer, seek out the reviewers talk page, check to see if the talk page contains notices from itself or from another editor who subst'ed the AfD notice or used similar wording to deletion, check it hasn't recently already told this user (who subsequently removed the notice), check it's not been excluded from the users page and continue to add a new section to the users talk page if these requirements are met.

editGreat! This bot will definitely help with notifying. --Nathan2055talk - contribs 20:35, 14 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
As an (occasional) AfC reviewer, this seems like something I would appreciate. --Nouniquenames (talk) 15:53, 16 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Looks like a cool task Approved for trial (7 days). Please provide a link to the relevant contributions and/or diffs when the trial is complete. Also, can you send me the source code so that I can review it? Thanks. --Chris 09:51, 18 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
- User:NoomBot/scripts/AFCDel.php. Running trial. Noom talk stalk 13:21, 18 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
- Damn, I messed up. Didn't insert a new line between old messages and the new messages. Modified edit summary. Many apologies to the talk pages I broke a little. Noom talk stalk 13:43, 18 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
- Is it possible to list also PRODs, CFDs, RFDs, and TFDs? (Article Alerts might be your friend XD) mabdul 00:06, 19 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
- Good idea, easier to just use the article alerts page. Can I modify the bot whilst it is trial period? Noom talk stalk 11:54, 19 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
- Yes, you can/it is allowed... Please use your existing (working) code for the AfD for being independent of Article Alert bot (just for the case that it stops because of any reason). mabdul 12:12, 19 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

On hold. Noom talk stalk 16:36, 27 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
- An update for AfC, Hellknowz has expressed interest in adding this to Article Alert bot, if he still intends on doing this, then this can be marked as withdrawn. Otherwise I will write a version that's not dependant on parsing the Article Alerts page. Noom (t) 14:55, 17 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry I haven't read BRFA in a while so I'm late to this, but I feel like the consensus for this request was too limited considering what it is going to do. It's basically going to automatically canvass someone who clearly believes the article should exist. I have the feeling this is going to be somewhat controversial. Gigs (talk) 21:27, 24 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
- Our guidelines says, when nominating an article for mfd, afd, prod or even CSD, then we should inform the creator. Since the reviewer of the AfC draft has accepted and moved the article, he is involved and in responsibility somehow for that. He/She might add important information to the discussion (e.g.: a vandal removed long time ago many references) and or the reviewer gets some kind of feedback that his acceptance of articles are too liberal. Can you explain me what is a) controversial and b) canvassing on this kind of behavior? Shouldn't we stop to inform anybody if his/her "baby" was nominated for deletion? (as this is identical canvassing) mabdul 13:20, 28 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
