Note: I have restricted the edit tests in the English wikipedia to my userpages, except for two stray edits, on Chang'e 1 and United Nations General Assembly Resolution 2758, during which I had set the argument -whenneeded instead of -localonly, where local refers to the wikipedia in Cantonese. Is there a reason that you cannot update to the latest revision of pywikipediabot? If not, please do so. I'd really rather not have a bot running on the project to which the latest bugfixes/features are not regularly applied. — madman bum and angel 01:51, 28 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I obtained the snapshot at 2007-8-11 from sourceforge and it works. I have tried updating it with tortoiseSVN and somehow it didn't work. So I reverted it to the old version, and only updated by hand individual files, such as interwiki.py and replace.py. But after I copyed the new wikipedia.py, it didn't work ('module object has no attribute base_dir). So I use the old working wikipedia.py. Thanks. Hillgentleman 07:53, 28 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Im happy ish.. But the user does need to get it sorted so they can get access to the latest working svn copy fairly easily... Reedy Boy 12:17, 2 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

It would be great if there is a simple way to install all the files in windows. I can cut and paste all of them from svn if it is absolutely necessary. I have tried to trace the problem (ie cutting-and-pasting the new files on top of the old files) through wikipedia.py ->config.py -> wikipediatools.py ->terminal_interface.py (in the userinterfaces directory) , and I run out of steps. It has to do with an attribute called "base_dir" which seems to have been added recently, or relies on some other things which have been added recently. I have updated the files with tortoiseSVN and it is now running properly. Actually , the problem was that I had localised some of the pages and forgot to fix the syntax after the update. Hillgentleman 17:48, 2 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
