Automatic or Manual: Automatic
Programming language(s): PHP
Source code available: Method do_fanmp_update()
in [1].
Function overview: Update WP:Featured articles that haven't been on the Main Page daily, removing today's featured article, adding new featured articles, renaming FAs that have been renamed, removing demoted FAs.
Links to relevant discussions (where appropriate): None. This is a tedious task that is now done manually; I don't see how automating it could be controversial. I will post on WP:FANMP's talk page and on WT:TFAR.
Edit period(s): Daily.
Estimated number of pages affected: 1.
Exclusion compliant (Y/N): Y
Already has a bot flag (Y/N): Y
Function details: The bot retrieves the text of WP:FA and WP:FANMP, generates a listing of FAs that have not been featured on the main page, including counts of articles per section, and combines it with WP:FANMP's header and footer, also updating the count in the header of WP:FANMP. This diff shows the result of a test run of the task compared to the current version of WP:FANMP. There are many differences, but I believe they are all because WP:FANMP is out of date.

- It's working now. In the next days it should make fewer changes. Ucucha (talk) 11:18, 17 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Trial complete. It's been working without problems as far as I can see (link to WP-space contributions of the bot). Ucucha (talk) 10:13, 26 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
