editIf the bot will not be editing, then I see no need to give it approval (or even create an account, for that matter, but I suppose pywikipedia requires one). If you need the +bot permission for some reason, such as to make API requests with higher limits, then yes – bot approval is necessary – but otherwise, I think you can just go ahead and run it without approval.
