CCCCWI Wikipedia as Public Scholarship Workshop
- Please join us online for our Wikipedia as Public Scholarship on Friday, April 9th, 2021 from 1:30PM-3:00PM ET. This introductory workshop will cover editing basics—addressing some of the specific concerns experts face on Wikipedia—and discuss how scholars can use their expertise to advance knowledge equity online. Topics include navigating privacy issues, concerns around conflict of interest, and getting started with articles that need a lot of work.
- Participants are encouraged to identify an article to work on and register on the event dashboard in advance. We aim to have you editing by the end of the workshop. All comp/rhet scholars with a PhD or pursuing one are welcome no matter their level of experience with Wikipedia.
- This event is limited to 15 participants. The workshop will be hosted on Google Meet by Savannah Cragin, the CCCC Wikipedian-in-Residence. This event is sponsored by the CCCC Wikipedia Initiative with funding from the Wikimedia Foundation.

editConflict of interest templates
editIn order to avoid conflict of interest (COI) while editing, it is best to disclose any external factors that may affect your contributions to specific topics or sources. Keep these practices in mind:
- Be transparent about your COI if you have one, post disclosures on the talk page of articles and on your userpage. Copy and paste these templates, respectively, to flag your COI to editors:
