	Welcome to WikiProject Crusades!

Goal and Overview WikiProject Crusades is a revival and major expansion of the Crusades Task Force of WikiProject Middle Ages and WikiProject Military History. Our goal is to improve the coverage, quality, and scope of Wikipedia’s crusades-related articles with high-quality sources, well-written prose, and extensive information To improve articles, this WikiProject employs a variety of strategies. We have a list of “vital articles” of utmost importance to our project in particular; 150 articles of 3 levels of importance will be hand-picked by members of our project to prioritize (The list is currently being revamped at the moment, but stay tuned!). You can also place good or featured article nominations and DYK proposals in the studium, where individuals with extensive knowledge on the topic can quickly review each other’s work without the usual wait. Additionally, editors can nominate articles for members of the project to improve and suggest articles for creation and expansion. Users can also ask members questions about the Crusades (and how to edit Crusades-related articles) on our talk page.

Scope WikiProject Crusades covers all articles relating to the Crusades on Wikipedia, including: Articles about and/or relating to the nine crusades and other associated events (such as the Albigensian Crusade and the Children's Crusade Biographies about important historical figures of the Crusades on all sides of the conflict, and crusades historians, both contemporary and modern. Significant battles, sieges, sacks, and other military events during the Crusades or concerning the crusading movement. Treaties and councils also count here. Nations (Kingdoms, counties, sultanates, etc.) associated with the Crusades Orders, groups, and organizations associated with the Crusades Interpretations and opinions of the Crusades Media and popular culture that refer to and/or depict the crusades

Assessment Scale WikiProject Crusades shares its quality scale with WikiProject Military History's Crusades Task Force, but has an importance scale of its own. Task Forces WikiProject Crusades has three task forces each assigned to a different aspect of the crusades. These task forces are named after military orders from the time period, but have their official names as well: The Knights Templar (Or the Crusades Military Task Force) The Crusades Military Task Force (Or Knights Templar) is dedicated to battles, sieges, sacks, and other military events on all sides of the crusades. The task force is responsible for covering these topics with verifiable sources and an unbiased and neutral point of view. Editors must not report on these events (and their statistics) incorrectly to push a false narrative about what happened and/or the belligerents involved, and must not exaggerate nor understate their facts. Articles that are not about warfare are still applicable to this task force if they relate to the military (like treaties and truces), and must be treated with the same care and precision as the others. The Knights Hospitaller (Or the Crusades Biography Task Force) The Crusades Biography Task Force (Or Knights Hospitaller) is dedicated to writing biographies about notable figures on all sides of the Crusades. The task force is responsible for documenting the lives and legacies of people associated with the Crusades and/or the Crusading movement from an entirely unbiased point of view. Editors must not use unreliable sources, manipulative or biased language, and/or cherry-picked information to make a person look better or worse, and events must not be exaggerated nor understated. Biographies about Crusades historians also fall into this category, and must be treated with the same care and precision as the others. The Teutonic Order (Or the Crusades Locations Task Force) The Crusades Locations Task Force (Or Teutonic Order) is dedicated to writing about important places associated with the crusades. The task force covers all types of locations, including kingdoms and nations, villages, battlefields, fortresses, churches and mosques, etc. The task force is responsible for covering facts about these locations and the events of the crusades associated with them using high-quality sources and writing from an unbiased and neutral point of view. The task force should focus on writing about events related to the Crusades, and should preferably not stray into writing about the same location during other time periods unless the Crusades remain relevant to the subject matter.
