Wikipedia:Clean up after your discussions

When nominating pages for deletion, keep an eye on discussions that you've started and clean up after yourself if applicable. If editors provide a response to your deletion nomination that satisfies the issues at hand, such as sources that clearly establish notability for an article, or a reference that amply justifies a redirect's existence, withdraw the discussion as a speedy keep (provided that there are no standing deletion votes other than you). Alternatively, if the page's creator makes a comment in the discussion clearly agreeing that it should be deleted, or if a page that you created is nominated for deletion and you find yourself agreeing with the nomination, you can tag the page for G7 speedy deletion (provided that other relevant criteria for speedy deletion are met).

Cleaning up after yourself in XfD discussions reduces the amount of bureaucratic backlog and frees up editors' time to work on other tasks. It can also help foster a less adversarial work environment in deletion discussions: other editors will appreciate your ability to listen to their arguments, and will be less defensive and more willing to assume good faith in any future interactions that you may have.
