Apparently this article has been recently cleaned up. Nevertheless I find it unbearable to have a sentence stating that after the Dorians crushed the Aegeans their surviving "racial elements" helped their culture to "blossom again" three centuries later. I could improve that phrase myself but I feel that I don't know enough about it. Also, reading such overcome racial value theories, the value of the whole article seems questionable to me and should be reviewed. That the "Dorians" crushed the Mycenaeans is a theory that is rapidly falling out of favour among Greek Archaeologists. There is little to no evidence for the "Dorians" as an invading force, and they can only be speculated over. To see an article ascribing the fall of the Mycenaean civilisation to them as a certainty is quite worrying. Elric's Notes / Current Status
edit- Article is an absolute mess: it may look OK superficially, but the content is pretty awful. Who references the 1911 Britanica in this day and age?
- Shall dig out my books and notes on the Aegean this weekend (I did some research into this area only a few years ago), to begin working out a plan on improving this.
- UPDATE: books found, notes sorted, going through one section at a time. Little free time until late-March, so not likely to make any significant changes before then.

editBoth the articles General nature of the evidence of Aegean civilization and General features of Aegean civilization, awkward 1911 EB copies, need to be merged here and redirected. This, also from EB, needs a thourough copyedit and wikification. Plus more references. --Dmcdevit 04:56, 25 Apr 2005 (UTC)
