- If you believe that an article is too long for nomination, and would be better suited for the Article Improvement Drive, you can mark it with the {{notastub}} template (making sure to use subst), which will display:
The Collaboration of the Week is for stubs and non-existent pages. Consider nominating at the Article Improvement Drive instead. |
- If a nomination expires, edit this page and remove the text including it, and add this text to the bottom of Wikipedia:Collaboration of the week/Removed.
- When the time comes to update the current collaboration, follow these steps:
- remove the winning nomination from the list, and update the date that a future nomination will be selected, with an edit summary of [[New article]] has been selected (replace "new article" with the article name).
- edit the past collaboration page, and remove the {{COTWnow}} template from the top of the page.
- edit the past collaboration's talk page, and after removing any COTW-related tags it may have, add the template {{past cotw|(date selected)|(year selected)}}.
- add {{COTWnow}} to the new collaboration.
- update {{cotw1}} with the name of the new collaboration.
- update {{cotw2}} with the name of the previous collaboration.
- perform a history diff between the date the {{COTWnow}} template was added, and when you removed it, copy the section of the URL starting with
diff=
, and paste this in {{cotw3}}. - update Wikipedia:Community Portal/COTW with the introduction of the new collaboration, as appropriate.
- update Wikipedia:Collaboration of the week/History with the new collaboration of the week.
- Optional: put {{subst:COTWvoter}} ~~~~ on the talk pages of the people who voted for the winning nomination.
