Wikipedia:Expert review/coordinators/access

This page describes how to request approval and revocation of coordinators in expert review, and provides information on how to file these requests with current coordinators.

Approval requests

edit

Any English Wikipedia community member can apply for the position of an coordinator, provided they:

  • have written at least one featured article;
  • have had an account on the English Wikipedia for at least one year, and actively edited under this account for at least six months of this period; and
  • have not recently engaged in controversial behaviour.

If you wish to become an coordinator, you must release:

  • your account name;
  • your full real name;
  • your e-mail address;
  • the account name of a well-standing English Wikipedia community member whom coordinators may contact to vouch for you; and
  • any other information that you are willing to release and feel is relevant to your request.

Gather all of the information above and send an e-mail to the coordinators' mailing list (see the list of expert review mailing lists), including the text "Coordinator approval request" in the subject line. (Be advised that this is a publicly-readable mailing list.)

If successful, your name will be added by a coordinator to the list of coordinators, and your e-mail address will be granted access to post on all of the expert review mailing lists. Generally, you will be granted the access, unless you fail to provide all the required information or fail to meet the other requirements listed above.

Disapproval requests

edit

Requests for the revocation of coordinator privileges, or removal from the list of coordinators, are granted only very rarely, if:

  • evidence can be provided that the coordinator deliberately provided false or incorrect information when requesting approval;
  • evidence can be provided that the coordinator deliberately caused damage or disruption to any area of the English Wikipedia;
  • the Arbitration Committee, or some other body with similar authority, files the request; or
  • the coordinator in question makes the request.

Gather all relevant information above, and send an e-mail to the coordinators' mailing list (see the list of expert review mailing lists), including the text "Coordinator revocation request" in the subject line.

If successful, the name of the coordinator in question will be removed by a coordinator from the list of coordinators, and the coordinator's e-mail address will be revoked access to post on all of the mailing lists with the exception of the coordinators' mailing list.

Abusing disapproval requests may warrant a block, or possibly a ban from the expert review mailing lists.
