I am not a fan of topics on semi-obscure ppl, but this seems to be a fine topic. However, sports teams usually include coaches also. WHat makes all the players notable, while the coach is not? Doesn't the coach receive a medal also? Nergaal (talk) 10:21, 12 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
WP:NOLYMPICS, which says that Athletes from any sport are presumed notable if they have competed at the Summer or Winter Olympic games or have won a medal at the Paralympic Games. This makes all the Gliders notable, but as a coach John Triscari is not presumed notable. And no, coaches do not get Olympic or Paralympic medals. I could try and assemble an article on John. Question - This topic seems to be ready to be promoted. However, is there consensus on whether or not to add the coach in the topic? GamerPro6418:40, 3 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I've created an article on John Triscari, and have nominated it for GA. Sports articles take months to come up for review, and there is no guarantee that it will pass. I will also be bring assistant coach David Gould's page to GA. Unlike Triscari, he is automatically notable, being a Paralympic gold medallist. Hawkeye7 (talk) 21:23, 3 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]
