The English Football League Championship play-offs are a series of play-off matches contested by the association football teams finishing from third to sixth in the EFL Championship table and are part of the English Football League play-offs. As of 2021[update], the play-offs comprise two semi-finals, where the team finishing third plays the team finishing sixth, and the team finishing fourth plays the team finishing fifth, each conducted as a two-legged tie. The winners of the semi-finals progress to the final which is contested at Wembley Stadium. The Championship play-off final is considered the most valuable single football match in the world as a result of the increase in revenue to the winning club from sponsorship and media agreements.

CommentsI am uncertain about the reliability of tabloid newspapers the Sunday World and the Birmingham Mail due to them being populist, but I don't know lots about them so if you can make a proper case, my opinion may be shifted. For the majority,the content is up to proper quality especially with numerous FAs and I always feel amazed at seeing these GTs with over 30 articles! --K. - The Rambling Man and Dweller, there is nothing on these sources at WP:RSP so that is why I admitted to not having too much knowledge of them. After the explanations above, I don't take issue with the usage of them anymore. However, the 2013 Football League Championship play-off Final article should have the GA icon listed instead of the DYK one per this being a GT. --K. Peake 08:37, 5 May 2021 (UTC)
