Original - Devil's Golf Course is a large dry lake on the floor of Death Valley National Park. The salt in the Devil's Golf Course consists of the minerals that were dissolved in the lake's water and left behind in the Badwater Basin as the lake evaporated.The colors of background hills are caused by the oxidation of different metals.

• Question are the white rocks in the foreground a part of Devil's Golf Course? Is the flat ground in the background a part of the Devil's Golf Course? I can't tell exactly what the photo shows. Pine^talk 22:30, 20 August 2011 (UTC)

Only the white rocks in the foreground are part Devil's Golf Course. They are rock salt, you could see crystals, eroded by wind and rain. Have you read Devil's Golf Course that is linked in the caption? Broccolo (talk) 19:20, 22 August 2011 (UTC)

• Oppose I think http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:DevilsGolfCourse031411.jpg does a better job and is also a large image. I'd suggest nominating that instead. :) Pine^talk 09:05, 25 August 2011 (UTC)
