- Support. This photograph looks to be the basis of the engraving on the McPherson fancy back, so presumably it was considered the best one available in 1891. blameless 00:08, 20 June 2022 (UTC)
- Support – I think it's Ok to crop out empty space of historic photos, unless the photo itself is the subject of an article. We are just an encyclopedia, so utilizing images is our concern (and cropping empty space can sometimes be an improvement). We are not a repository of original works, as is Commons. - Conditional Support – Crop about half of the space above the head, and it's full... ;-) --Janke | Talk 17:14, 21 June 2022 (UTC)
- I agree with the suggested crop. Bammesk (talk) 01:49, 22 June 2022 (UTC)
- I kind of hate doing alts. It always seems to have the risk of killing a nomination, but I suppose we could discuss File:James Birdseye McPherson c. 1862 by Barr & Young (cropped).jpg. Perhaps better discussed after this nom, though (Can always D&R) Adam Cuerden (talk)Has about 7.9% of all FPs 12:55, 22 June 2022 (UTC)
- Support - It shows a great and clear photo of a Civil War general. JustDan7178 (talk) 01:53, 23 June 2022 (UTC)
- I was going to rant about how it's not the 23rd until I realized that it is.. JustDan7178 (talk) 01:56, 23 June 2022 (UTC)
