  • Support as nominator --Arad (talk) 19:34, 21 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  • This is misleading at best. --Dschwen 20:17, 21 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
    • Um, mind clarifying? Shoemaker's Holiday (talk) 21:55, 21 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
      • Sure. But I think the uploader/nominatior has to do some clarifying too: [1]. A 180mm f3.5L Macro lens f/16? How does that fit on your Powershot? A closer look at the image shows that this is a computer rendering. Mentioning this would be nice. Feels like being tricked (ho hum, I wonder if I can show of my Dielectric Shader pic as a photo). --Dschwen 22:01, 21 July 2008 (UTC) See also Wikipedia:Featured_picture_candidates/Glass_is_Liquide for some further examples by Mehran Moghtadai (a.k.a. User:Arad). --Dschwen 22:05, 21 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
        • That being said, it is a very pretty image. --Dschwen 22:08, 21 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
        • Hang on, so is it or is it not a rendering? The fact that Arad has removed the bit about the macro lens would suggest either he is covering up or he simply somehow entered it incorrectly in the first place, given that it was uploaded and then that text immediately removed... Still, if it is a rendering, it should be stated as such, as it would therefore not be actual Murano glassware that we're looking at. Diliff | (Talk) (Contribs) 22:42, 21 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
        • Looks like Dschwen nailed that one. Papa Lima Whiskey (talk) 00:05, 22 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
          • lmao. Mehran Moghtadai is not User:Arad, I simply upload his works. Yes, this is a 3D render. I don't know where you came up with PowerShot, but anyhow. Yes the Macro Lens thing was entered in correctly. [I don't use a PowerShot anymore and I rather use my Dig-SLR, just so you know] And Yes the creator wanted to know if people will believe this as a real photo. Nice job Dschwen finding out. You can simply remove the nomination now, I guess Mehran had enough fun. ;) --Arad (talk) 04:20, 22 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
            • Then please dont put yourself in the author and source fields of these images! [2] --Dschwen 12:20, 22 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
            • BTW, thanks Dschwen for the complement. Anyhow, I told Mehran not to expect people here get fooled. I seriously didn't expect Dschwen and Diliff (two of the best active photographers (if not the two best) in wiki to get fooled). --Arad (talk) 04:28, 22 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
              • Comment Well, I'm glad you both had 'fun', but i have to say it leaves a bad taste in my mouth, what would you have done if no one had noticed, left it in as it was? Some of us are trying to create a credible encyclopedia. Mfield (talk) 04:32, 22 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
                • I would have put a stop to it anyway. And I was certain someone will find out. Anyhow, Wikipedia is a joke. Don't get me wrong. It's a very good website, very very informative but nothing to take serious, at all. --Arad (talk) 04:49, 22 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
                • And I appreciate your effort to make it a credible encyclopedia (which, honestly, it never will be). But nevertheless, you guys make it worthwhile ;) --Arad (talk) 04:52, 22 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
                  • Then with all due respect I strongly suggest you refrain from editing WP any further in future, certainly not to upload CGI that are intentionally misrepresented as photographs. People have been fired from top positions in the media for far less, and like it or not, and in spite of your derision, Wikipedia has become a source of reference for a lot of people. It will continue to do so as long as editors maintain integrity and policies of verifiability. Mfield (talk) 04:57, 22 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
      • Please Calm Down. Wikipedia is not my job, nor is it yours. You edit wikipedia, I assume, because you like to do so. One of the main Wikipedia rules is that you should NEVER use it as a reference. Be real, It can never be a trustable source. It's good to find some general information and to start a research, but not to rely upon. --Arad (talk) 17:03, 22 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
        • 'One of the main Wikipedia rules is that you should NEVER use it as a reference' - what are you talking about? If everyone referenced material correctly per Wikipedia:Verifiability, and had the smarts to check that what they were reading was correctly referenced then it would be entirely as trustworthy as any print encyclopedia. However you need to be apologizing here, not trying to defend your highly inappropriate actions. I have no need to calm down, the consensus of opinion below about your character is much worse than my polite recommendations but your last comment leaves me in agreement with them and about one step from taking action to have you blocked. Mfield (talk) 17:16, 22 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
          • I did apologize down there. And I'm very polite here. The consensus of character you talk about, is an insult. I assume you mean those rubbish words that came of out Fcb? And please Read Wikipedia's FAQ. In it it said that Wikipedia is not a reliable source. Sorry to tell you the truth, I know it hurts. --Arad (talk) 17:28, 22 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  • Strong Oppose if above alleged deception turns out to be true. (I'll reconsider in the light of evidence to the contrary). Mfield (talk) 04:09, 22 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  • Comment User:Arad, your actions constitute a violation of Wikipedia's behavioural guideline, Wikipedia:Do not disrupt Wikipedia to illustrate a point. Will you please familiarise yourself with the guideline and abide by it in future? Thank you. Papa Lima Whiskey (talk) 09:26, 22 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose I don't have much time to read FPC anymore so when people essentially say: "f*** you" to the time contributions of the editors here, I say: "f*** you, Arad, you asshole. That is all I have to say on this matter. -Fcb981(talk:contribs) 12:07, 22 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  • I would have never thought that you, whom I admired his contributions, would be so rude. That Dick comment on my talk page was appropriate, but you're just rude now for no reason. --Arad (talk) 17:16, 22 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose What an ass. Fletcher (talk) 13:06, 22 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  • Comment It also seems that Arad has on occasion implied that he is Moghtadai (henceforth Mg),[3] who he now claims is a friend. The user account purporting to also be Mg on commons has only been used to nominate images.[4] A collaboration has been implied here. It's possible the best course of action is to do nothing unless the real Mg contacts the Foundation, and assume for the time being that the accounts are being used as role accounts by both Arad (whose surname may be Mojtahedi, making him the collaborator under the link above) and Mg.
Some people seem to be calling for Arad to stop editing. I'm open to supporting a motion to reduce his editing privileges here. Is this something that people feel would be for the greater good? Papa Lima Whiskey (talk) 13:28, 22 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
That seems to be a little much. I hope Arad got the message and realizes that he exercised bad judgement (btw. some personal attacks are going a bit too far here). But his history of contributions isn't all like this, is it? Anyhow, Arad and Mehran will have to clear up the source/license issues with their pictures on commons. --Dschwen 14:37, 22 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I agree with Dschwen here. Arad has been a valued contributor here in the past. It looks like he's become a bit disillusioned though. My opinion is that unless he continues to cause problems, we're best off just leaving it at that for now. Diliff | (Talk) (Contribs) 14:50, 22 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  • lol. Ok guys Calm down. I got the point. Sorry to offend anyone. But to anybody using Wikipedia as a source or reference for serious research: "GO read Some REAL Books". And if the time factor is really important, just put this nomination in the archive right now before more people feel offended. It shouldn't take longer than 30 sec. I guess it'll easier for everyone. --Arad (talk) 16:58, 22 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I seriously don't like to be bullied. So If anyone got the balls, go on and block my account (or anything you like [Which you never even CAN do]). And don't go insulting people who never had intention of offending you. Anyhow, I'm not an active contributour anymore, as you have noticed, so I can't care less. BTW, Fcb981... You tell me not to be a Dick. If you read that article, you know that calling someone a dick and/or insulting him is also being a dick. Yes, I've been a dick here, but not any more that those rude people above. And I've been here in Wikipedia far longer than most people, so I do know the rules and I know you can't bully me with this single action. Have a great day! And ENJOY (don't take it very seriously) editing Wikipedia. --Arad (talk) 17:10, 22 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
