Self-nomination: I think that having a picture of a single piece of turquoise that shows such a great variation in color is valuable to the turquoise article. This shows every color that turquoise can be, all in one specimen.

  - People like to be able to blow it up real big and look at the small details. Please do upload the larger version on top of this one, we have lots of hard diskspace for good pictures. Comment. OK, the new image is up. 1144x2076 instead of 565x1024... that's over FOUR TIMES as big. :) As for the naysayers who say that it's not interesting enough or doesn't have the "wow" factor... I humbly submit that Featured Pictures are also those which illustrate the subject well, and need not necessarily be "wow" inducing.
