Myself and Riana recently revamped this portal, using bits and pieces from other featured portals as well as some new ideas. I think it's up to featured standards, so I'm nominating now. Any suggestions on improving it further are much appreciated. Cheers, Daniel 04:43, 19 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
- No selected bios? OhanaUnitedTalk page 06:24, 19 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
- "Selected article" covers this, because it's a regional (not national) portal with limited articles to fill the void. Daniel 06:45, 19 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
- No in the news section? — Dihydrogen Monoxide 10:13, 19 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
- That is a very good idea; added. Daniel 10:33, 19 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
- Support all seems to be in order. Looking for other interesting images etc to add as we go along. Please make any suggestions you can think of :) ~ Riana ⁂ 02:43, 20 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Per the wishes of the Adelaide cabal- No other problems. — Dihydrogen Monoxide 02:44, 20 December 2007 (UTC)[reply] - Comment -- Could use a couple more Selected articles and Selected pictures, at least. I agree with OhanaUnited (talk · contribs), it's a gap that there is no Selected biography section or something similar, but not necessary. Could the South Australian News have a link to some Wikimedia sister project like Wikinews, instead of an external link to a Search engine? Cirt (talk) 05:47, 20 December 2007 (UTC).[reply]
- "Could use a couple more Selected articles and Selected pictures, at least" — fair point. I might struggle with images, but there's at least another half-dozen articles we can use.
- "Could the South Australian News have a link to some Wikimedia sister project like Wikinews, instead of an external link to a Search engine?" — I thought that, but unfortunately I couldn't see a Cat:South Australia/Cat:Adelaide at Wikinews. Would linking to Cat:Australia be sufficient? Daniel 07:17, 20 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
- Linking to Cat:Australia at Wikinews would be fine, but couldn't you just create a new cat at Wikinews, that is, if there's enough material for one? Cirt (talk) 19:19, 20 December 2007 (UTC).[reply]
- I honestly kinda doubt that there is enough news for a separate category at Wikinews :/ but I'll see what's possible. ~ Riana ⁂ 20:11, 20 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
- Adelaide is boring, remember :) Daniel 10:46, 22 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
- I think we could include a Topics section, inline with other Featured Geographical portals. If added, I'll most certainly support this nomination. Rt. 19:12, 20 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
- OK, I'll get to work on that... ~ Riana ⁂ 20:11, 20 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
- OK, got that going here. My knowledge of South Australian history is far from perfect though, and I'd appreciate someone in the know giving it a once over, just in case it's a bit skewed? Thanks for the suggestion, Rudget :) ~ Riana ⁂ 21:03, 20 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
- Yeah, that's fine. Considering I've never left the Northern Hemisphere, I'm not to knowledgable either. But your inclusions are great. I now support this nomination, and if this entry receives any more supports, I'll promote it in a week. Rt. 10:03, 21 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
- It's better to just let someone else come and close it if you have participated it in as you have, but considering that it's Featured portal candidates which doesn't receive much attention as the other candidacy pages, I guess it's fine. Spebi 20:52, 22 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
- Hope they don't stick the boot in the locals for their bandwagon! (Nice job you two!) Support. Michael talk 10:14, 21 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
- Support, another great portal from Riana and Daniel :) Looks great. Spebi 21:09, 21 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

- Support: Great work. One little comment — South Australian News might be repetitive. It could be changed to Current events, Recent news, or the like. Happy editing, [sd] 02:56, 26 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
- Done — nice suggestion :) Cheers, Daniel 09:30, 26 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
It is very fine portal. There are few small inputs, which could be helpful to improve the portal.
- Did You Know?' title can be replaced by Did You Know....
- this picture image size can be increased, if possible.
- Things you can do section can have some other tasks other than requested articles. Thanks, Shyam (T/C) 11:17, 26 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
- Thanks for the suggestions. All Done :) ~ Riana ⁂ 13:03, 26 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
- Support. Nice use of randomization. The picture in the "Did you know" section is a very nice touch. Cirt (talk) 21:24, 26 December 2007 (UTC).[reply]
Consensus apparent, all minor points of concern addressed within a sufficient time period. Rt. 22:30, 28 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
