Wikipedia:Featured and good topic candidates/Thatgamecompany/archive1
I've been working on this for a while, and now that the last reviews are closed it's ready for FTC. This encompases the company Thatgamecompany, its two founders, and the games made by/owned by the company. 4/7 FAs makes it featured; Journey is unreleased but has received a finished peer review. Image is of Chen; it's the only free-use image I have. --PresN 20:17, 11 June 2011 (UTC)
- Support do not appear to be any gaps in coverage. Der Wohltemperierte Fuchs(talk) 20:34, 11 June 2011 (UTC)
- Support: meets all featured topic criteria. Great work. For the sake of full disclosure: I was a copyeditor on three of these articles. Shouldn't make much of a difference, but I figured I should make it clear. JimmyBlackwing (talk) 21:03, 11 June 2011 (UTC)

- Could you add the newly implemented
|deadurl=no
to all non-dead links for citations, so the primary link for readers remains the original (example)? The Chen's image does not really represent the whole topic, rather Jenova Chen, partially Thatgamecompany and partially games. It sucks that the fair use company's logo image cannot be used here, so I don't really have a solution. — HELLKNOWZ ▎TALK 07:14, 13 June 2011 (UTC)
- Deadurls are done. I don't have any other free-use images for the topic, so unless someone wants to whip up an svg of a hand like their logo or something... --PresN 18:36, 13 June 2011 (UTC)
- I would prefer no image to just Chen's image. But otherwise, support. — HELLKNOWZ ▎TALK 19:01, 13 June 2011 (UTC)
- Comment - re: the image, couldn't you crop File:Cloud Team.jpg to focus on just Santiago and Chen (who conveniently happen to be next to each other)? I know nothing about the subject area, but the article suggests they were the company's two founders, so would that not be an appropriate image.......? -- ChrisTheDude (talk) 07:56, 14 June 2011 (UTC)
- Support, congrats on completing the topic. Axem Titanium (talk) 01:59, 15 June 2011 (UTC)
- Support The image doesn't bother me as TV seasons use single writers, for example. Adabow (talk · contribs) 05:14, 20 June 2011 (UTC)
- Wait a minute, why isn't Robin Hunicke included? Adabow (talk · contribs) 05:15, 20 June 2011 (UTC)
- She isn't a founder of the company. She's an employee hired a couple of years ago; her article contains only two sentences about her working at thatgamecompany. She's primarily notable right now for her work at EA, mainly Boom Blox and The Sims 2. If after Journey is released the media notes her as critical to the game's success and to the company, I'd gladly GA and add her to the topic, but right now I don't think she fits. --PresN 06:50, 20 June 2011 (UTC)
- Her article opens with "Robin Hunicke is the producer at thatgamecompany."; ref states that she "is our Producer Extraordinaire". I'm not too knowledgable about video games, but isn't being the producer a bid deal? Adabow (talk · contribs) 07:15, 20 June 2011 (UTC)
- The company only has one producer at a time, since they only make one game at a time, and they make up their own titles. --PresN 16:33, 20 June 2011 (UTC)

- I would say Hunicke is currently only a related "topic". She is currently notable for other work other than TGC and would probably not pass NOTABLE with TGC connection alone. Then again, if she was included (at some point, such as, Journey release), it would be fine. — HELLKNOWZ ▎TALK 07:27, 20 June 2011 (UTC)
- Fair point, re-supporting. Adabow (talk · contribs) 07:59, 20 June 2011 (UTC)

- Support, great work, well deserved. Of course, it may be a hard topic to keep up to standard if they increase the speed they produce games, but good luck anyway! J Milburn (talk) 23:51, 20 June 2011 (UTC)
- Support Not sure why Journey isn't a FA or GA, but hard work shouldn't go unrewarded. —Terrence and Phillip 05:37, 27 June 2011 (UTC)
- Support to the comment above me, a yet-to-be-released game would never meet the stability requirements for either FA or GA. Courcelles 03:26, 7 July 2011 (UTC)
