Martha Burchfield Richter

Are there any articles or interviews available for use from the Smithsonian Archives of American Art? I have a clipbook from when she was alive, but am having trouble identifying which newspapers some of them came from. I'm also willing to share the digital files I have with the museum if interested. Many of the newspapers in Buffalo, New York from the 1940s-1960s have since gone out of business but the rights protections are still in place. Thank you for your help! Wilanna Bristow

Are any of the photos of Wilanna Bristow's work available for use on Wikipedia? To do a proper article I'd need access to two or three clippings that provide the basics of a biography, and I'd really like at least two images of work (one embroidery and one applique, if you have them). - PKM (talk) 20:10, 7 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hi PKM! Thanks for the request. We do have a microfilmed collection (very small) of content related to Bristow. You can see here. Since the content is microfilmed (we do not have access to the originals) it might not be the best quality and/or I might not be able to reproduce it for variety of reasons. SI in general has little information regarding her work, sadly. I will investigate the accessibility and availability of what we have here though. Keep the ideas coming! Frank Lloyd Wright

Hi PKM! It seems likely that there are rights protections still in place for the these FLW images which would prevent their release on Commons, but the low-res versions are available for use. - Sarasays (talk) 13:15, 6 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
