WikiProject GLAM/Smarthistory serves as the hub for all Wikipedia community events, content work, and community collaboration on articles related to the Khan Academy's Smarthistory videos and related topics.
Note that these videos are produced by a well-recognized leader in internet education, a non-profit organization, and are freely downloadable, but are licensed CC-NC, so cannot be uploaded to Commons. If you are interested in helping please leave your username in the participants section. If you have any questions feel free to post them on the talk page.
Scope
editThis project aims to coordinate the sharing of resources between Smarthistory and the Wikimedia community. Smarthistory's mission as an online educational institution aligns closely with Wikipedia’s goal to provide "free access to the sum of all human knowledge."
Plans
edit- to link, where appropriate, articles on a particular artwork to the Smarthistory video on the artwork.
- to review or write Wikipedia articles on specific artworks documented in Smarthistory videos, using the videos and other sources.
- to link, in limited circumstances, articles on an artist to the Smarthistory video on the artist.
- to create all the proper user boxes, project tags, etc. in order to keep track of project statistics.
