Workshop objectives
editThis introductory workshop aims to help participants to learn Wikipedia editing skills by giving them as much opportunity as possible to practise. It is not a presentation and its focus is editing, rather than creating text. By the end of the workshop, participants should be able to:
- edit the text and format of Wikipedia articles to improve them;
- link articles to others;
- add appropriate references and images;
- engage with the Wikipedia community in discussions about article quality and content;
- find supporting pages about policy and style.
Pre-workshop
editBefore the workshop, participants should:
- Choose a user name and create a user account
- Consider articles and topics to work on and suggest them below
- Prepare a few paragraphs (on paper or an electronic notepad) about an article or topic to work with during the workshop
- Add user name to the participant list.
