Western University Wikimedia efforts
Members of the Western University community, particularly staff from Western Libraries, have been working with the Wikimedia community as part of WikiProject GLAM since January 2019. This is the space where we organize event planning and our project work in Wikipedia, Wikimedia Commons, and Wikidata.
To foster a community of practice among library staff and the campus community that centers on:
- Experimentation with linked data through Wikidata project work
- Openly sharing library and archival resources that are in the public domain through Wikimedia platforms
- Teaching wiki editing skills needed to enrich Wikipedia, Wikimedia, and Wikidata content
- Planning wiki events for the Western University campus community
