Created Out of Mind Wikithon in a nutshell:
|
About the event
editThe Created Out of Mind team are aiming to explore, challenge and shape perceptions and understanding of dementias. They've organised this wikithon as part of the Third Minute Festival. People living with dementia and their supporters are invited to explore, edit and inform Wikipedia pages on dementia and related topics.
You'll have the chance to develop your digital skills and learn how to edit Wikipedia in order to harness the power of the web to share your knowledge. Complete beginners and experienced editors are both welcome to attend - we'll provide training for anyone new to editing. If you’ve spotted an article that needs improving, ask questions and we’ll see what we can do to help!
How can I join in?
editYou can join in today in whatever way you feel comfortable.
- If you'd like to begin by reading some of what's on the existing dementia page, there are printed copies to look at where you can stick post-its with your suggestions. You can also see the page online by searching in the search box above or by clicking here.
- If you'd like to do some editing, we'll run through some instructions. There are guides lower down on this page to help too.
