Wikipedia:GLAM/YMT/Tempest Anderson

The project is using material related to Tempest Anderson as a key test collection. Anderson was a key figure in the city and the Yorkshire Philosophical Society. He made a living as an opthalmic surgeon but was also a pioneering vulcanologist. Documenting his global explorations through photographs. Anderson has been chosen as a test case for this project as he is an under-acknowledged figure in York's history, his diverse interests and travels connect him to vast amounts of content on Wikipedia, and because 2013 is the centenary of his death. For the project, YMT is creating and donating hi-resolution scans of 250+ images from Anderson's unique photographic collection to Wikimedia Commons.
