This is a collection of discussions on the deletion of articles related to Hinduism. It is one of many deletion lists coordinated by WikiProject Deletion sorting. Anyone can help maintain the list on this page.
- Adding a new AfD discussion
- Adding an AfD to this page does not add it to the main page at WP:AFD. Similarly, removing an AfD from this page does not remove it from the main page at WP:AFD. If you want to nominate an article for deletion, go through the process on that page before adding it to this page. To add a discussion to this page, follow these steps:
- Edit this page and add {{Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/PageName}} to the top of the list. Replace "PageName" with the relevant article name, i.e. the one on the existing AFD discussion. Also, indicate the title of the article in the edit summary as it is particularly helpful to add a link to the article in the edit summary. When you save the page, the discussion will automatically appear.
- You should also tag the AfD by adding {{subst:delsort|Hinduism|~~~~}} to it, which will inform editors that it has been listed here. You may place this tag above or below the nomination statement or at the end of the discussion thread.
- There are a few scripts and tools that can make this easier.
- Removing a closed AfD discussion
- Closed AfD discussions are automatically removed by a bot.
- Other types of discussions
- You can also add and remove other discussions (prod, CfD, TfD etc.) related to Hinduism. For the other XfD's, the process is the same as AfD (except {{Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/PageName}} is used for MFD and {{transclude xfd}} for the rest). For PRODs, adding a link with {{prodded}} will suffice.

Long-standing, completely unsourced article. Appears to be more of a bullet list of information rather than an encyclopedic article, nothing establishing notability. The only thing resembling a source that is given is iii) Source of Information: Because of its architectural features and use of cement mortar.
to justify a 20th-century dating.
Speedy deletion has been proposed previously, but the article doesn't actually fit any speedy deletion criteria. Just a poor, unsourced article with no evidence of notability for now. Only source I could find was a mention in INTACH Heritage Project Survey and Documentation of Lesser Known Monuments of Bhubaneswar, Part- 1, Orissa, 2006 by the Indian National Trust for Art and Cultural Heritage. - Delete per nom. This is also a very recently built temple comparatively, not historical at all, which is a sign there are likely no sources. The creator made two other pages that have similar concerns (though at least someone fixed the formatting...). Also as the person who found this page this is the worst result I have ever gotten from clicking random page PARAKANYAA (talk) 22:27, 1 September 2024 (UTC)
- REDIRECT to Uttaresvara Siva Temple. I have found no sources to use in converting this into a stub; it also only appears to be mentioned on Commons as not being listed as a heritage monument and not having an image (commons:Commons:Wiki Loves Monuments in India/Monuments/Non-designated/temples/Odisha/Khordha district). The temple is a later temple attached to the venerable temple. Bhimesvara Siva Temple is another; we cover that one in a section at Uttaresvara Siva Temple, after its redirection in 2011. The last previous version was this, which contains a similar list of features. (The two articles were created 2 days apart by different editors: Pattprat for this article, Saumya.srivastava for the Bhimesvara Siva Temple. They seem to have been working from the same database.) - retain this article because this article deals with the temple among the 108 Shiva Temples in India and as per Wikipedia guidelines it is enough for an article with three lines and subsequent wikipedians improve it. பொதுஉதவி (talk) 12:55, 3 September 2024 (UTC)
- Keep: Just added a few references and more info to the article. More seems to be available since there are published works containing this topic. The article now passes WP:GNG. Rasnaboy (talk) 19:07, 3 September 2024 (UTC)

Very unclear whether this group of "lower communities" which includes e.g. Sat-Sudra (considered higher castes), is a commonly accepted grouping with a clear definition, or some division created specifically for this article. Also not clear if the topic (Sanskrit texts by caste division) is a topic of study and whether these people are grouped together scholarly, or if this is some novel WP:SYNTH list. - The Wikipedia article of Sat-Sudra is very badly written. I have suggested an edit but my edit is reverted. Please check. Sat-shoodras are only higher than other shudras (asat shudras) and lower than every other varna. That is, Lower than Brahmins, Kshatriyas and Vaishya. See the note on sat-shoodra there. Caste boundaries can't be clearly defined due to their complexities. The main castes are mentioned themselves which are considered lower nonetheless. Sat-shoodra only highlights their status in varna system. This is a dynamic list and more people from other communities can be added by everyone. The topic of debate has always been whether lower communities have contributed to sanskrit among scholars. This article helps in breaking the myths of denial of education and lack of scholarship among lower communities and foster inclusivity. Mohit Dokania (talk) 09:03, 26 August 2024 (UTC)
- Delete: Fails WP:NLIST and WP:RS. Almost 60 % of the sources are unreliable. Andhraportal, wisdomlib, jainqq.org, sanskritkosha,sndp, sanskritdocuments etc., are not RS.
