Strongly disagree - It's a plain graphic representation of where the station is/was situated, and as such is no different from any other Wiki editor-created map or diagram used in place of copyrighted versions. Nick Cooper (talk) 15:19, 24 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Comment - it's speculating as to how a station that closed many, many years ago, would fit into our current transport network if it were open. The key words being speculating and if. Comment - As JediLofty has pointed out, the Underground Map/Diagram works to set rules and as this is a case of a station which still exists and much of the infrastructure for it to be operational still in place, there are a very limited number of ways in which is would be represented. 86.140.196.181 has shown how it was represented when still open, and you will see that it is essentially the same as the disputed image, with the exception of the line being "dotted," which is the standard way of indicating a peak-time only service, although there are plenty of historic examples of it not being "dotted," as well. The branch consists of a single line and for virtually all its working life was operated by a single shuttle train running between Holborn and Aldwych (as it was at the time of 86.140.196.181's example), hence it is not shown as linking directly into Piccadilly line proper, even though in practical terms it is for the purposes of stock movement. If the station was still open now, it can be said with virtually absolute certainty that it would still be a shuttle, and would appear on the map as suggested. Disagree - I think the idea of having an image of what it would look like on today's map is a great idea. It visually helps the mind imagine where it is. The said graphic could be improved though and taking into account Transport for London is publicly owned it could in fact be in the public interest to use a section of the copyrighted map to represent realistically where Aldwych station is located. Disagree - the image is specifically relevant to the Aldwych tube station article and shows the location of a now-closed railway station in relation to still-existing stations on the same network. Keep - The London Underground map is pretty iconic, with predictable methods for adding new stations. The image does a very good job of illustrating how the Aldwych station would look on a current LU map if the station was still open. Deleted.  With images labelled as free on commons, that are at least freer (whatever copyright/trademark/et cetera exists on the design, this image is additionally encumbered by the photographer's copyright), there's no basis for retaining this image. WilyD 18:02, 8 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
