Wikipedia:List of hoaxes on Wikipedia/Jack "Russer" Russell

Jack "Russer" Russell (1753–1809), a little-known traveller, spent twenty-five years documenting the Orient. His journals are considered pop culture in Japan and he is considered to be a "Western Icon". The "Russer" likeness is used as a parody most often in Japanese works where the author is portraying a duality of humor and strength in a lead character.
