edit- Port Adelaide Enfield Local History - a new addition to the Council's website, using a GIS-style map interface with historical aerial photography and maps to geolocate the local library's collection of around 2,000 historic photos. The launch of the website was reported in the Portside Messenger as "Story map of Port Adelaide Enfield's colourful past an Australian-first" on 20 August 2014.

editReports and comments
editThere was a general discussion of the setting up of a 'Now and Then' wiki for Port Adelaide. Bahudhara gave an outline of the current status of the 'Now and Then' wikis per his recent discussion with Darren Peacock, who is currently Executive Officer with the National Trust of SA, and has been selected to be NTSA's next CEO when the incumbent, Eric Heapy, retires at the end of December.
Meredith advised that event registration for the state-wide program 'Every Generation' in October had already closed, so it wouldn't be possible to advertise the launch of the wiki in the event calendar.
All agreed that a more realistic timetable would be to have a public launch at the end of January. Meredith indicated that the Port Adelaide Library would be willing to host the public launch, and could supply nibbles. etc.
It was also suggested that it would be good to have other organisations involved at an early stage, such as the Port of Adelaide branch of the National Trust, Port Adelaide Historical Society, Woodville Historical Society, Port Adelaide University of the Third Age, etc.
In the coming months the following steps need to be taken:
- licensing, intellectual property, web-hosting issues (NTSA State office)
- cloning of the empty shell of the wiki (Darren Peacock; apparently a relatively simple task)
- training the trainers (Adelaide Wikipedia Users group)
- training the volunteers
- creating a number of articles so that there is sufficient content for the public launch in January
Outcomes
editBahudhara to follow up contacts with the other community organisations, to inform them of the project and to ask whether they are likely to want to be involved.
