FAQ
editWhere is the event?
- We'll be in Seminar North at NPR Headquarters. If you're a guest, tell security you're here to help with the Wikipedia tutorial, and they'll help you sign in.

- * An interest in hispanic heritage or editing Wikipedia!
Do I have to register to attend, or can I just arrive on the day?
- If you're not an NPR employee, you'll need to sign up above with your Wikipedia username and your real name. If you don't feel comfortable listing your real name above, just send Veronica a note with it.
- NPR employees can just show up, but are encouraged to RSVP above.

- Feel free to ask on this project's talk page. We welcome suggestions on the development and progress of this meetup.
Editing Wikipedia
edit- Three things to know about editing Wikipedia
- Intro to Wikipedia Slides
- More: Cheatsheet, Wikipedia:Featured Articles, Wikipedia:Policies and guidelines, Help:Getting started, Wikipedia:Starting an article
- Orphaned articles by WikiProject -- Listings of quick and easy or more extensive cleanup projects, by topic. Quickest: Add wikilinks to articles.
Research resources
editEach name listed in the "Articles to work on" section has a corresponding bio as well as additional research to spruce up its Wiki article. The information was so graciously prepared by Ayda, an NPR librarian. The linked Google Docs are open to anyone with a link to the information.
Articles to work on
editAdd inline citations
editThe information in these articles needs to be more clearly linked to the sources that provided it. Check out the Wikipedia article on Citing Sources for help with citations.
Write more on these articles
editAny of these articles could have more written about them.
Advanced! Add images to these articles
editAdding images is fun, but finding ones that are appropriately licensed can be tough. Check out the Wikipedia Picture Tutorial and Uploading Images for help adding images.
Advanced! Look for ways to improve these articles
editThese articles don't have obvious improvements needed. To improve one of them, you'll need to read it carefully and find places where the subject's story could be better told or better cited.
