The WikNYC Picnic, the "picnic anyone can edit", was held in Central Park on Sunday July 6, 2014, as part of the Great American Wiknic celebrations being held across the USA.

See past WikNYC awesomeness at Wikipedia:Meetup/NYC/August 2007 and Wikipedia:Meetup/NYC/August 2008.

The picnicking area is the southwest section of the Great Lawn, north of the Delacorte Theater, just inside the park at Central Park West between 81st & 82nd. Enter the park at West 81st St. (Central Park map focused on Delacorte Theater - the picnic is on the grass north of this structure)

The picnic will last from 1 PM to 8 PM.

Remember it's a wiki-picnic, which means potluck.

• 81st Street – Museum of Natural History, C Line

On the morning of the Wiknic day, we also held the Wikimedia NYC chapter's annual meeting at a location near the park, from 11:30am to 12:30pm.

• Beach umbrellas
• Water and ice
• Frisbee/softball
• Boardgames
• Friends
• Portable wiki and free culture awesomeness

No alcohol or cigarettes please, as both are banned in NYC parks. Share what you're bringing at Wikipedia talk:Meetup/NYC/Wiknic.

Also, no need to bring soda! We have a quite a few leftovers from the conference.
