editDo you want to do a tour? add your name here, and we'll see what we can organise.
update: Wikimedia Australia has agreed to assist in the costs of the tour we will be having a special private group tour. WMAU will cover the minimum required cost for the private group tour which will facilitate the ability to get specific photographs, any cost above this will need to be shared by all who attend, I dont envisage that being more than $5-10 dollars each. Tour will commence at 14:00, it will take approximately 2½ to 3 hours unfortunately if your running late you may not be able to join us.

Wikimédia France raises €5,000 for cheese
editWikimédia France launched a campaign on the crowdfunding website KissKissBankBank to raise thousands of Euros to create images of hundreds of kinds of cheese to illustrate Wikipedia articles. The WikiCheese campaign, spearheaded by User:Pyb, will gather Wikipedians on a monthly basis in Paris to take high quality photographs of ten cheeses from multiple angles and to sample them afterwards. Photographs of the first ten cheeses are already on Wikimedia Commons. The campaign has received significant news coverage, such as this article (November 25) from The Guardian, and already passed its initial goal of €5,000. The money is for photographic equipment, books to use as sources to improve cheese articles, and, of course, the cheese itself. The top goal of €9,500 promises WikiCheese will document 365 cheeses and produce a documentary about artisanal cheese production. The Wikimedia Foundation clarified (December 2) to Business Insider Australia that the WikiCheese campaign has no relationship to the Foundation or its regular fundraising drive.
- May I suggest that the Meetup Perth group could also do something like this? As the creator of most of the articles on Wikipedia about WA wineries, I have an idea about what the subject matter could be. Perhaps we could discuss at Meetup 18. Bahnfrend (talk) 00:41, 7 December 2014 (UTC)
