The WMF's Asaf Bartov is in Australia for the first time, and is visiting Sydney from Thursday to Sunday. He has already met with the chapter's board in Melbourne, and would love to talk with Australian Wikimedians about anything they'd like. This is a rare opportunity to meet a key player in WMF strategy and international outreach. All are welcome.
Cas Liber and I are informal organisers of this event. Sorry about the short notice. Tony (talk) 04:23, 11 November 2018 (UTC)

- I was chatting to folks and this place, about a ten minute walk away from
civilizationdowntown, should be quiet enough for lots of chitchat without a stack of background decibels....Cas Liber (talk · contribs) 10:42, 11 November 2018 (UTC) - Likely. --99of9 (talk) 00:48, 13 November 2018 (UTC)

editThe Duck Inn has very nice food and takes bookings for its restaurant. If you want to eat, it might be helpful to make one, once numbers are known. Whiteghost.ink (talk) 23:36, 11 November 2018 (UTC)
- a good idea. Cas Liber (talk · contribs) 01:08, 12 November 2018 (UTC)
- Indeed. There's a specific eating area that would be quieter (noise is variable in the main part—from very quiet to not quiet). Let's see how many takers we have maybe on Wednesday evening, and I'll make a booking, shall I? Tony (talk) 02:09, 12 November 2018 (UTC)
- I've booked a table for four at 6pm. I'm sure they could accommodate more if necessary, though. Tony (talk) 09:15, 14 November 2018 (UTC)
- Thanks, Tony! Looking forward to seeing you all tomorrow. Ijon (talk) 14:20, 14 November 2018 (UTC)
