Wikipedia Voice will be a two-day training event where student members will be enriching their experience and skills as Wikipedians as they engage in training sessions, help improve Wikipedia articles and engage in Wiki related activities and discussions.

The training seeks to align the new stream of emerging editors with the community policies and practices that have kept Wikipedia's standard.

Experienced members of the club will give brief talks about Neutral Point Of View, Weasel words, Puffery etc using the slides and experience gotten from Asaf's training/meeting at Abuja.

Day 1 (August 15th, 2018)

• Wikipedia Basics Opening Excercise* (10am-10:20am)

Task 2 (11:35am-12:05pm) copyediting- MaryamOke

• We would be learning about the importance of copyediting to Wikipedia to the grammatical voice of Wikipedia and Wikipedia:How to copy-edit.

Task 3 (12:10pm-1:00pm) Hands-On

• We would be editing articles that are logged on Category:Wikipedia articles needing copy edit
• Editathon contest: Create-an-Article Get-A-Gift

Task 4 (1:05pm-2pm)

• Brief tutorial on the Verifiability and Wikipedia:Notability and article creation.
• Questions and Answers, refreshments.

Day 2 (August 16th, 2018)

Certification

Requirements for certification for this training include:

• Attendance for the two days
• Must score at least 50% in the 24 questions exam
