Wikipedia:Newline after references
This is an essay. It contains the advice or opinions of one or more Wikipedia contributors. This page is not an encyclopedia article, nor is it one of Wikipedia's policies or guidelines, as it has not been thoroughly vetted by the community. After a ref tag (<ref>) and ref close tag (</ref>), create a newline:
Article text article text article text<ref> {return} reference text reference text reference text</ref> {return} article text continues...
Newlining reference text – i.e. putting reference text on a new line – makes it easier for editors to see which text is article text and which text is reference text. This is particularly helpful where large amounts of reference text are used.
