Wikipedia:Obscure Guideline 573
This is an essay. It contains the advice or opinions of one or more Wikipedia contributors. This page is not an encyclopedia article, nor is it one of Wikipedia's policies or guidelines, as it has not been thoroughly vetted by the community. Some essays represent widespread norms; others only represent minority viewpoints. |
This page in a nutshell: There is always some obscure policy or guideline you don't know about or that has recently changed and you completely missed. |
You will never know all the policies, guidelines and pseudo-policies that are actually essays but interpreted as policies. Even if you knew them all, new ones come along, old ones are changed and interpretation changes. If you understand the five pillars and don't act like too much of a dick, chances are, you'll be OK.
What really matters is the intent and effect of your actions.
