I've listed this article for peer review because I started working on this article in 2007 and I believe it is finally ready to be nominated for FA. It is currently an A-Class article and this will be its second peer review.

Query
edit@Dream out loud: This has been open for over a month and has not received a comment yet. Are you still interested in receiving feedback? If so, I suggest posting on the Wikiproject talk pages that are attached to this article. If not, can we close this? Thanks, Z1720 (talk) 15:21, 1 August 2022 (UTC)
- Yes I am still interested in feedback. I have posted a request in WT:USRD and WT:NJ so hopefully we'll get some feedback soon. –Dream out loud (talk) 08:32, 2 August 2022 (UTC)
- As a drive-by comment, there are some dollar figures not adjusted for inflation. --Rschen7754 18:02, 2 August 2022 (UTC)
- Does every dollar figure need to have an inflation adjustment? It only seems relevant for the major figures, like the total cost of the project. –Dream out loud (talk) 08:53, 3 August 2022 (UTC)
- That's what I have been told but I don't know what the official guidelines on that are. --Rschen7754 01:22, 4 August 2022 (UTC)
- The official guidelines are quite vague on this. MOS:MONEY simply states "In some cases, it may be appropriate to provide a conversion accounting for inflation or deflation over time." With that being said, I think inflation values are only relevant for the overall cost of the project, which is already included. –Dream out loud (talk) 07:19, 4 August 2022 (UTC)

Review by Fredddie
editSplitting out a section –Fredddie™ 01:29, 5 September 2022 (UTC)
- RD
- Double check that the dashcam videos are not copyright violations.
- I have two side-by-side tabs open to do my review. The dashcam box creates some bad text sandwiching between it and the exit A image. It goes away at full screen, but it's pretty bad at half-screen.
- The first paragraph of the RD is only three long sentences. I would revise because the second sentence sort of repeats the first.
- Which sounds better?
- The connector runs for a total route length of 2.37 miles (3.81 km) with an average two lanes per direction and a posted speed limit of 35 mph (56 km/h).
- The connector runs for a total length of 2.37 miles (3.81 km); it averages two lanes per direction and has a posted speed limit of 35 mph (56 km/h).
- The northernmost 0.89-mile (1.43 km) section of the connector... → The northernmost 0.89 miles (1.43 km) of the connector...
- Hazmat is restricted or prohibited? They have different meanings.
- Can you revise the sentence that starts with a number?
- I don't know if the exit letters are necessary in prose. It would be interesting to know why they are lettered and not numbered.
- After exit E, the connector continues for northbound traffic only, with an exit that serves as a U-turn... please revise to get rid of "
, with
". I promise the result will read better. There are three other instances of this in the History section. - Try to break up all the times you say connector. Do a Ctrl+F and be shocked.
- History
- I'd like to see a summary paragraph before the first subheader.
- A task force is a they, not an it.
- You mentioned above that you didn't think think all dollar figures should be inflated to today's dollars. I don't know if all of those specific costs need to be mentioned. Perhaps you could rewrite The total cost of the project was $330 million... to not mention specific costs. That way the total cost is the only number there to be inflated.
- Local residents seems redundant.
- Controversies section is fine.
- Design–build is a method that contractors use when they have the capability to both design and build projects (hence the name). It seems weird that SJTA would require that. Anyway, that doesn't seem to be what happened here because the general contractor and the designer is not the same firm.
- Ah I thought I saw more than one sentence that began with a number. 100,000 CY might have to be One hundred thousand CY. Best to check the MOS.
- How can a road require building anything? Construction plans can, but the road itself can't.
- Road plans more often than not have traffic control included in them. Variable message signs are just a portion of traffic control.
- I would reverse the numbers in ...fell to four minutes from 15.→...fell from fifteen to four minutes.
- Do you have updated average daily traffic figures? 2003 numbers are kind of old.
- The rest looks good. –Fredddie™ 05:14, 5 September 2022 (UTC)
- @Dream_out_loud: just making sure you saw this. –Fredddie™ 01:20, 6 September 2022 (UTC)
- Yes thank you very much! I'll address these comments later in the week. 10:26, 7 September 2022 (UTC) –Dream out loud (talk) 10:26, 7 September 2022 (UTC)
- Thanks so much Freddie for all your feedback. I finally had a chance to do a copyedit and just want to follow up:
- Dashcam vids are original and not copyvios
- Can you send me an example of a summary paragraph (in another article) that I can use for before the first History subheader?
- I'm familiar with what design-build means (I work in the industry) so I removed any mention of subcontracted companies to avoid confusion. Just the main 2 companies in the JV are mentioned as they're most important.
- Latest traffic data I could find is from 2013 and has been added
