How can it possibly be improved, as I'd hope to get it to FA status? KILO-LIMA 17:51, 9 February 2006 (UTC)
- To begin with, it needs to cite sources and avoid weasel language (there are many instances of many fans believe...). I've spotted a few instances of what appears to be pure speculation from the author, and thus the skeptic inside me makes me doubt the accuracy of the whole article. I also dislike the bias in time perspective and wildly inconsistent use of past and present tense. Present tense should always be used to refer to the content of the fiction; past tense should always be used to refer to historical circumstances surrounding the fiction. For example, avoid the recent Alien vs. Predator film (what if someone reads the article in 50 years?), and avoid the Queen in Aliens was less than a month old (surely she hasn't gotten any older by now?). There are other problems with the language as well; thorough copyediting is advised. Fredrik Johansson - talk - contribs 18:30, 9 February 2006 (UTC)
- IMO, the non-cannon castes should be moved to a seperate list page as they take up alot of room in the article. I also think the "varations" section should be redone as a design evolution: it should start off with the alien's appearance in the first movie and then list each of the following movies and the changes they made with subsequent films. The phrase "They can exist and reproduce independently of this system and hive structure however, which makes their ability to spread and infest areas much more dangerous." is speculation based on a deleted scene and should be removed or placed under a different heading. Agree with the above that a through copy-edit is needed. Beowulph 18:51, 9 February 2006 (UTC)
- I think the article also needs some better images. For the lead, I think a full body shot would be better (there where some quite good promo shots for AVP one could use) and some others are so small/dark one can hardly see anything. Also, Image:Xenomorphs.jpg (whose fair use has been disputed) could easily be replaced with a series of fair use screenshots or even better with a public domain photo of the same toys. --Fritz Saalfeld (Talk) 11:24, 10 February 2006 (UTC)
- Additionally, according to WP:LEAD, the longer the article, the longer the lead section should be. In particular for this article, the lead should be about three paragraphs that propperly introduce and summarize the contents. Fieari 01:52, 11 February 2006 (UTC)
