This image was created by the User:Captain Blood on Wikimedia Commons (he seems to have quite a few topographic maps, but I noticed this one first), and I just found the picture amazing. The use of color combined with the great detail makes this picture stand out. However, I thought I would take it here first since I know people tend to have very high standards for featured pictures (and I'm no professional artist). For the record, the image, naturally, is used in the Israel and Geography of Israel articles.

Comments: This map is likely to draw some political comments, as these are 1949 borders, that do not include the Golan heights, West bank or Gaza strip. Some maps that don't include the West bank or Gaza still include the Golan heights. I'm not saying what the map should include, only pointing out that this is a controversial issue.--woggly 06:40, 6 August 2006 (UTC)
