- There are far too many variables for us to give you business advice in this regard. Have you considered retaining an accountant, attorney, and other professionals who could advise you on the details? Elizium23 (talk) 00:41, 5 November 2022 (UTC)

- If the company you have engaged to create this website cannot give you such basic advice, I suggest you find another company. Or are you intending to create the website for this company? The question is unclear. Shantavira|feed me 09:08, 5 November 2022 (UTC)

- Are you sure you are competent to create a website for a company, considering that you are seeking advice about issues on which the company should expect a contractor to be knowledgeable? Consider the risk of being held liable for the losses they may incur if you bungle the job. --Lambiam 10:12, 5 November 2022 (UTC)
Sorry, it is a complete misunderstanding. The company is the one that I will hire to create a website for me. I've never have designed a website, I am their customer. I know what they will charge me, It is fixed, I want to know what the porting will cost me in the short and long run? That's it Thanks AboutFace 22 (talk) 20:06, 6 November 2022 (UTC)
- Typically, when SWEs speak of "porting" they are talking about translating code from one language to another, or taking a database or codebase from one environment and upgrading it or adjusting it to another environment. I'm not sure what about your website needs "porting" and again, there are far too many variables to think of that you haven't filled us in on.
- What type of website is it? Is it a storefront? A database? Social media? User-generated content? Is it high-profile? Does it process payments or deal with PII? Will it require high security? Elizium23 (talk) 21:30, 6 November 2022 (UTC)
