Cell booster

edit

I bought a cell phone booster for my 2016 Sonata. The instruction say to keep the external antennae away from the radio antenna. This doesn't seem necessary. Thoughts? 2604:3D08:4080:1390:0:0:0:DD0 (talk) 18:46, 12 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

What happens when you don't? {The poster formerly known as 87.81.230.195} 90.199.210.77 (talk) 07:51, 13 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
If there is a strong transmitted signal coming on on the antenna for the weak signal it can desensitise the front end that amplifies the weak signal. So it can stop it from working. If you had a lot of space and money (ie not in a car) you could have wave traps to keep unwanted co-located transmissions out. But if you had space you would not have to worry about the placement anyway. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 07:45, 19 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
