editNissan Commercial Music
editAt the end of "The Onion: Video podcast" recently, there has been a nissan commercial which shows a map of the u.s., and a red nissan driving north, with narration saying "From Howdy y'all, to hey you's guys in under a tank." During the "Howdy y'all" portion, for a few moments some old-timey sounding music plays, which sounds to me like an autoharp/jew's harp duet. Is anyone familiar with this piece, i have had no luck finding out the artist from the net, nor from an email sent to nissan. Thank you for any help.
What band has been around the longest without changing their lineup?
editWithout gaining or losing any members. Doppelganger 00:11, 17 July 2007 (UTC)
- First band that comes to mind is The Rolling Stones, original band since 1962. -- Kainaw(what?) 02:03, 17 July 2007 (UTC)
- As I read the question, it seems the OP wants to know of a band that has the exact same members now as it did when it was first formed. The Rolling Stones don't fit this since Wood and Watts weren't founding members. Dismas|(talk) 02:47, 17 July 2007 (UTC)
What about Aerosmith, formed in 1970. Of course, there was a period where they had scab players. -- Kainaw(what?) 02:57, 17 July 2007 (UTC)
- I'm changing my answer to The Everly Brothers. -- Kainaw(what?) 03:47, 17 July 2007 (UTC)
- The Four Tops were around for over 40 years before an original member passed away.--Ispy1981 15:31, 17 July 2007 (UTC)
- It appears The Everly Brothers and The Four Tops formed about the same time. The Four Tops have replaced deceased members. The Everly Brothers have not. -- Kainaw(what?) 16:26, 17 July 2007 (UTC)
- True, though the Everly Brothers split up for a decade. One could make a case for both as, if I'm reading it right, the OP wants to know which group has gone longest without a lineup change.--Ispy1981 20:17, 17 July 2007 (UTC)
- Aren't the Everly Brothers a duo rather than a band? Clarityfiend 05:38, 18 July 2007 (UTC)

Old spy Movie
editHello, I have queation about an old spy movie on the order of "The Lady Vanishes". But his movie is older I think. I have not seen the movie in years and I can not remember the women actor that played the part. It was a British Spy movie of WW2. In this family were three people. Father, wife and child. The husband was recurted by the governmet to go to Germany to cary some papers but was caught and shot. The wife of the agent said that she would go in his place. She die very well keeping away from the Germans unitl the end of the movie. The car that she was in was stoped by the Gustopo and the end of the movie she is getting in the car of the Germans and driving away. I had the women actors name at one time but I have not seen anything with her in if for a long time. I wish that I could find a site that had picturess of the old actors. Then I could remember her name. Thanks, Jesse —Preceding unsigned comment added by Jrw441 (talk • contribs)
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0030341/, although unfortunatly there are no pictures for the actors. Lanfear's Bane
- That link is for The Lady Vanishes, and from the OP's question, I'm sure it's not that. DuncanHill 09:41, 17 July 2007 (UTC)
- Ah, my bad, I misread the first part of the question, although in my defence it is a little awkwardly phrased. Lanfear's Bane

- Hi Srujan. Hope you see this reply, because we've had to remove your email address from your question. It's a bad idea to leave your email address on Wikipedia, because it makes you an easy target for spammers. Questions aren't normally answered by email - you need to keep checking back regularly on this page to see if anyone has answered.
- As for your question, have a look at our article Man in the Moon. The first picture in that article is rather misleading though, it's not a real picture of the Moon!
- Finally, follow this link and you can create your own username, which has many benefits for you. --Richardrj talk email 10:49, 17 July 2007 (UTC)
- I haven't seen anyone find "Pictures" in the Far side of the Moon since most people have only seen it in photographs and not in real life. --GTPoompt(talk) 13:10, 17 July 2007 (UTC)
- Apologies, I took the question to be about the man in the moon. But I think you are right that the questioner is actually referring to the far side. --Richardrj talk email 13:22, 17 July 2007 (UTC)
- I dunno, the question is pretty strange. It could be some kind of joke, since it is odd how people can somehow post questions on the reference desk but can't figure out how to create a username.--GTPoompt(talk) 20:31, 17 July 2007 (UTC)

- I found a good picture of most of the farside at Astronomy Picture of the Day. Likely better ones exist. —Tamfang 23:00, 17 July 2007 (UTC)

This NES game is a elusive as ever
editThere used to be a really cool game for the Nintendo Entertainment System. I can't remember what it was called, but I know that you were in charge of a space colony (or something like that), and you had to build ore refineries, defense systems, space ships, oxygen generators, and stuff like that. I was horrible at it, so I'd like to give it another shot. It was played mostly through menus, I think. Anyone know what game I'm talking about?
- Was it Star Fox? Think outside the box 12:45, 17 July 2007 (UTC)
- No. It was for the original NES (see my first post above). --MKnight9989 13:09, 17 July 2007 (UTC)
- How about Metal Marines - no wait, thats also for the SNES... Think outside the box 14:16, 17 July 2007 (UTC)
- M.U.L.E.? --LarryMac | Talk 14:30, 17 July 2007 (UTC)
- M.U.L.E. might be it. I'll check it out some time today. --MKnight9989 12:21, 18 July 2007 (UTC)
- The name of the game is Overlord. Thanks anyway though. --MKnight9989 12:17, 19 July 2007 (UTC)
- Is this the article for it? --JDitto 03:23, 21 July 2007 (UTC)

Board Game
editHello back in about 2002 there was a board game in wizards of the cost. Now this game was horror based and had you going through a house or hotel of some sort and try to escape these monsters. These monsters were not regular monsters but like a chief wielding a knife. The monsters pieces were also sold by themselves. The name of the board game had a name starting with a G like gregorys horror house or something like that. Can anyone tell me what this board game's name is?
Drexalot 18:03, 17 July 2007 (UTC)Drexalot
- It doesn't start with G, but could it be Betrayal at House on the Hill? HYENASTE 20:02, 17 July 2007 (UTC)
- Gregory Horror Show? --12.155.80.115 12:28, 19 July 2007 (UTC)Sp3ktral
It was gregory horror show.. thank you very very much. Drexalot
Halo announcer
editDoes anyone know who voices the announcer in Halo? The one in multiplayer games that says stuff like "killing spree!" and "killtacular!".
I heard it was the same guy who voices MC (Steve something I think) but I have no idea if it's true. 67.188.81.5 20:10, 17 July 2007 (UTC)
- No idea. Maybe you are thinking of MC Hawking? He does have a history with FPSes. Recury 13:14, 18 July 2007 (UTC)
- MC = Master Chief. :)
- Jeff Steitzer, according to the Bungie site. [1] --JDitto 03:18, 21 July 2007 (UTC)
