Star Trek question

Interestingly, Trek canon identifies the star Vulcan orbits as 40 Eridani, exactly 16.45 light years from earth. Point your SETI dish accordingly. / edg ☺ ☭ 16:16, 17 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I am mistaken. Apparently it is never explicitly confirmed in the show. However, the figure 16 light years is given in the Star Trek: Enterprise episode "Home". There is evidence both real-world and in the canon that 40 Eridani was considered by Gene Roddenberry among others to be the Vulcan system.

Thanks guys. What a foolish human I am not to have looked at the Vulcan article! I would never have dreamed that they would have that information there in the first paragraph! Also, thanks for that link to "Home" - I am busy watching the Enterprise series and haven't reached that one yet. For some reason the show was cut here in South Africa around season 2. Married... with children theme song

The television show "Married... with children" starts with the song "Love and Marriage" by Frank Sinatra. The opening credits feature a few bars from the song, and end when the "with children" stamp appears on the screen and the "married" text molds over. I saw the opening credits the other day and saw that the audio ends abruptly after the stamp sound. however, I seem to remember that there were two chords after the stamp sound when I watched the show back in the 90s. It was likely edited for television, usually that happens for length reason so more advertising can be used (it happens often with re-airings of early Simpsons episodes too). Interestingly, the DVDs from season 3 on, no longer feature the Sinatra song AtaruMoroboshi (talk) 16:23, 18 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
