Music in NYTimes video

What is the music to the this clip from the New York Times? It is extremely familiar to me but I am unable to name it. --Blue387 (talk) 00:54, 4 November 2008 (UTC)

I'm almost certain it's by Beethoven. Except for one note, it's identical to the slow movement of his Piano Sonata No. 13 in E flat, Op. 27. No. 1 - but that one note makes all the difference, and means it must be a different piece. -- JackofOz (talk) 05:28, 4 November 2008 (UTC)

Got it! It's the opening bars from the 2nd movement (Largo) from Beethoven's Piano Concerto No. 3 in C minor, which was written at about the same time as the sonata, 1800, so he seems to have liked this little phrase. obscure song

Various search engines turn up no results on that exact phrase. Can you give any more information that would help, such as a time period or musical style/genre? Perhaps any other frames of reference such as television show or film that it was featured in if that is where you heard it. FCC regulation on network callsigns.

I am under the impression, based on information in a couple of articles on Wikipedia and elsewhere that there is (or was) an FCC regulation requiring stations to include their callsign or network logo on broadcasts as an overlay or watermark on top of the video. Could anyone tell me if there actually was ever an FCC regulation regarding this, and perhaps point me to some information on it?
