Did Doctor Who's Brigadier ever leave Earth?

edit

Does anyone happen to know if the Brigadier General ever left Earth? A Quest For Knowledge (talk) 14:27, 23 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

During The Five Doctors he was on Gallifrey, the TimeLord homeworld. 15:05, 23 February 2011 (UTC)

The Brigadier is a handy redirect for those with spelling problems! I'm pretty sure he also left Earth in Battlefield, stepping into a dimensional portal of some kind. But it's a long time since I saw it. 86.163.4.148 (talk) 19:08, 23 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

rap and techno

edit

What type of music is the combination of hip-hop and techno music? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 65.92.152.237 (talk) 16:32, 23 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Our extremely long List of music styles may contain the answer, though I suspect that combination might fall under more than one genre. 10draftsdeep (talk) 19:08, 23 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Trip hop is one genre that blends electronic music with hip-hop vocals. Massive Attack is a classic example of the form. SemanticMantis (talk) 15:35, 24 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

the combination of techno and hip hop music is known as techno hip hop music, you could look up more stuff about it right here on Wikipedia. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Trishalsezsmile (talkcontribs) 15:54, 25 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Viral video shown on Tosh.0

edit

On Tosh.0, they played a video of a group of kids pushing one girl off a house in a homemade swing. It looked like the rope was made of bed sheets. The show's host called the kids Russian. What is the YouTube link for this video? --Endlessdan (talk) 17:29, 23 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

What would you like to see in a webcomic? I am starting one and would like to see what it could be about. Answer here or here.(Look to the sidebar and you will see a poll that should be anwsered. Thanks. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Random Fat Guy (talkcontribs) 19:20, 23 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I've collapsed this. The reference desk is not the place to ask for personal opinions, as it says clearly at the top of the page, and linking to a poll on the site where you will eventually publish your work is not much better than advertising it. Karenjc 21:19, 23 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Ok thanks everyone for your opinons and I will use them. I'm sorry about any problem this was.Random Fat Guy (talk) 21:30, 23 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

No problem. Good luck with your comic. Karenjc 21:33, 23 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Children's Television Show

edit

I am trying to remember the name of a children's television show that probably aired sometime in the mid to late 1970's in the United States on Saturday mornings. It was not animated or a cartoon, but if memory serves me correct it involved colorful costumes, real life actors and possibly some puppets. The only character I remember was a man wearing Buddy Holly styled eyeglasses, often dressed in an alligator costume, (perhaps consistently shown during the opening credits) I think he might have been the main character or host of the show, and it is possible he wore other outfits. Does anyone remember this? I checked our article on List of children's television series by country , but nothing I saw seemed to match since I don't remember the title of the show. Thanks, 10draftsdeep (talk) 21:48, 23 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Could it be Uncle Croc's Block?--Michig (talk) 22:00, 23 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

That is it! Thanks Michig. Perhaps I should add it to the list. 10draftsdeep (talk) 22:10, 23 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Looking for 2 computer game titles

edit

I'm looking for the following game titles:

  1. A game for the Amiga where you play an important official's son, who has been altered by a mad doctor to kill someone. You escape and go on a rampage using various weapons to kill as many people as you can. I remember playing the demo that was included with one of the CU Amiga cover disks, but can't remember the name.
  2. A commodore 64 game where you have to try and defeat a Skynet like machine, by destroying 3 uplink stations. I think it was published by Imagine, but can't recall the name.

In both cases I've tried searching, but couldn't find these games. Jarkeld (talk) 22:04, 23 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

It might help if you can describe the style of game (platform, text adventure, shooting, etc) or can remember any other details, particularly for the second game. --Colapeninsula (talk) 13:40, 24 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
If you have a general year, you can use a list like this to see what titles were on the CU cover disk in that time period. -- kainaw 14:15, 24 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

1) was a side view shooter where you walked on the sidewalk and could enter buildings. It was made by a small company from Scandinavia. 2) was a shooter as well I think, a bit commando style, but contained in a fixed area you could revisit. Jarkeld (talk) 21:36, 24 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
