Doesn't mention his lawsuit he won against Shawna Vercher and now how does he feel she has a book out all about her laughable triumph over him? What does he say about all this? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 65.35.250.133 (talk) 04:39, 3 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

That would be Tim Donaghy, the NBA referee who bet on NBA games. What references have you found for the item you're talking about? ←Baseball Bugs What's up, Doc? carrots04:44, 3 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Bugs, I know you like to ask questioners "What have you found on Google so far?" or variations thereof such as the above. The thing is, it's kind of the point of this reference desk for us to provide the references so that the questioner doesn't have to go looking for them. --Viennese Waltz 09:32, 3 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I was trying to be polite. The way the question is worded sounds like an invitation to debate. So, go ahead and debate the OP, if you're of a mind to. ←Baseball Bugs What's up, Doc? carrots15:36, 3 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Two points: (a) VW, we do ask our OPs to search first before coming here, so Bugs was on the money there. (b) Bugs, the crux of the OP's question was "What does he say about all this?". That's a factual thing. Either his views have been reported, or they haven't. Anyone who went beyond finding a ref for this simple query would have been going off topic and also engaging in a debate that was never asked for. -- Jack of Oz [pleasantries] 17:56, 3 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I know we do Jack, but I tend not to take too much notice of that instruction. An awful lot of the answers we give here could have been found by the questioners themselves using Google. But this desk would be a very boring place if all we ever said to a questioner was "search Google". I firmly believe that we should be doing questioners' Googling for them. That's what they expect of us. --Viennese Waltz 19:16, 3 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
The part about the "laughable triumph" is what makes the question look like an invitation to debate. And he says the article doesn't mention it. The usual advice to anyone who wonders why an article doesn't exist or some fact is not in an article is to research it and post it as an edit. ←Baseball Bugs What's up, Doc? carrots20:10, 3 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
(e/c) But Bugs didn't say "Search Google". He assumed the OP had already done that (which is AGF since it's what we ask our OPs to do), and asked them what they'd found so far. Up above you told Joseph not to bother going beyond Ebay to find what he was after, when there are clearly other resources, which is precisely what he asked for. You seem to be coming from diametrically opposite positions in these 2 threads. -- Jack of Oz [pleasantries] 20:15, 3 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Well, no – my answer to him is precisely that there are no other resources for what he is looking for. --Viennese Waltz 20:37, 3 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
How can you maintain that position when Britmax has demonstrated its falseness? There would be many more than just that counter-example. -- Jack of Oz [pleasantries] 20:44, 3 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry, but Britmax hasn't demonstrated any such thing. Whatever it is that Joseph's looking for, he ain't gonna find it on Gumtree, or any other place except eBay. That may not be a provable assertion, but in practice it's certainly the case. --Viennese Waltz 22:07, 3 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

This is not the place for speculation about someone's feelings or to editorialize about the merits of a law case. μηδείς (talk) 22:20, 3 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Does somebody recognize the music in the background?

edit

Hi,

There is that music in the background in a TV show I've seen.

[possibly troublesome filesharing link redacted -- see below for soundcloud link]

Does somebody recognize it?

I try to Shazam it, but it fails.
Exx8 (talk) 12:40, 3 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Is anyone else having problems opening that link? It fails for me. If others can't open it either, maybe you could consider moving it to a more user-friendly file-hosting site. Thanks, --Viennese Waltz 13:04, 3 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I can open the link but file is locked. Requires a password to unlock. 196.214.78.114 (talk) 14:15, 3 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
is this a better link?
[possibly troublesome filesharing link redacted -- see below for soundcloud link]
If you name me a site that you want me to upload to then I shall upload there.
Exx8 (talk) 19:38, 3 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
That link forces people to download and run an executable, a "download manager", to download the file. No-one in their right mind should do so. -- Finlay McWalterTalk 20:12, 3 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, to be avoided like the plague. Anyone who has downloaded it should immediately do a sweep on their PC for malware. ←Baseball Bugs What's up, Doc? carrots21:19, 3 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Ha! InedibleHulk (talk) 06:00, 4 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I'm not trying to malware you guys. Here take another upload site: https://soundcloud.com/exx8eran/do-you-recognize
just click play, this is a familiar site.
Exx8 (talk) 21:53, 3 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
As for the SpeedyShare link, you're meant to click the filename, not the button at the bottom. An MP3 can be risky, but much safer. And much more likely to play music. I don't recognize the tune at all. InedibleHulk (talk) 06:04, 4 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
@Exx8: - do you have reason to believe it's a commercially released song rather than an original soundtrack? --— Rhododendrites talk16:37, 4 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Shazam was unable to identify it. Matt Deres (talk) 01:26, 7 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
