There are african movie that won or nominated in North American or European cinematographic award? If yes what are there?--213.26.205.140 (talk) 11:36, 10 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

According to List of Sub-Saharan African submissions for the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film, one of them won (Black and White in Color, in 1976) and one was nominated (Timbuktu, in 2014). Clarityfiend (talk) 11:54, 10 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Actually, here's a more complete list: List of African Academy Award winners and nominees#Best Foreign Language Film, plus one documentary in a following section. Clarityfiend (talk) 11:57, 10 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
There's also The Gods Must Be Crazy, a South African/Botswanan co-production. Its various awards are listed here. --Antiquary (talk) 12:30, 10 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
We have an article for the List of accolades received by District 9. uhhlive (talk) 14:55, 10 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
The Message, a Moroccan/Libyan/Kuwaiti/Lebanese/British co-production, was nominated for an Oscar for its music. Hotel Rwanda, from South Africa and several other countries, was nominated for Oscars, Golden Globes, BAFTAs and got a whole lot of other recognition as listed by IMDb. --Antiquary (talk) 20:14, 10 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Add on Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom, from South Africa and Britain, with a cabinetful of awards. --Antiquary (talk) 20:26, 10 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
And lastly (from me anyway) the Egyptian film Asmaa was honoured at the Fribourg International Film Festival in Switzerland. Thanks for asking such an interesting question, 213. Now I'm looking forward to watching the DVD of The Gods Must Be Crazy I've just ordered. --Antiquary (talk) 21:09, 10 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
The people at Pepsi give it two thumbs up. Clarityfiend (talk) 07:29, 11 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

PokaBunga.com is genuine site to play poker for real money? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 183.82.51.179 (talk) 13:35, 10 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

There are a number of programs/apps that provide Website reputation ratings (see link for list).  —71.20.250.51 (talk) 19:02, 10 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Why would you even care? Go to a well-known, trusted site like Pokerstars and sleep well at night. Clarityfiend (talk) 07:28, 11 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Maybe the competition is easier at PokaBunga. InedibleHulk (talk) 00:16, 13 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

What is a yandere cd?

edit

I'm watching this anime for the first time and in it the boy-crazy female MC listens to "Yandere Boys Verbal Abuse CD" and gets all turned on. What is the purpose of these kinds of CDs and what goes on in them? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 205.185.218.198 (talk) 19:38, 10 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Clues might be found at WP article yandere or wiktionary entry Yandere.  — 71.20.250.51 (talk) 20:20, 10 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Okay, now I know what kind of personality a yandare has but that doesn't answer my questions... — Preceding unsigned comment added by 205.185.218.198 (talk) 20:30, 10 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I guess some folks get turned on by verbal abuse from "lovesick-crazy" boys.  —71.20.250.51 (talk) 20:34, 10 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Or maybe verbal abuse of such boys. —Tamfang (talk) 20:53, 10 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Here's the clip: [1]. The boy is speaking to the listener, saying things like "What are you crying for?" "It's your own fault" "You talked to other boys" -- so it's pretty clear that the female character is being aroused by the idea of having a boy say mean things to her. SemanticMantis (talk) 15:06, 11 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
I don't know what anime you're referring to, but the CD is presumably a joke; I don't think "these kinds of CDs" exist in the real world. -- BenRG (talk) 03:50, 11 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
I agree that it is probably a fictional example mentioned in the anime. But I'm not so sure something similar doesn't exist in the real world ... rule 34 and all that. People are odd, but usually not so odd that there aren't many other people with similar predilections :) For OP and anyone else, here's a whole write-up of a real-world yandere CD series [2]. Here's a discussion of why people like the yandere type characters, though it isn't specific to verbal abuse [3]. SemanticMantis (talk) 15:10, 11 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
